We're Onto Something
If you have read "Our Story" on the website, you know that from the beginning Major and I wanted to make this a purpose driven venture. Little did we know how much our "Collision Avoidance" approach would resonate with Mom's and Dad's in search of a good driving school for their teens, as well as those adults who wanted to learn more than just how to operate a vehicle. But "Collision Avoidance" is much more than a slogan, it's the heart and soul of the Double Team Driving School difference.
As traffic reporters for radio and TV, unfortunately most of the time what we have to report is all bad news in the form of traffic collisions and the ensuing backups. And I will tell you... there is not a crash that we cover where we don't feel horrible for those involved, no matter how minor the collision may be. In fact, while on-air we have both commented how even crashes that are termed "minor" on the police scanners can still be traumatic for those involved. And on more than one occasion we have both had our heart hit our feet when we hear of a serious crash on a route one of our friends or loved ones may be taking to work or school. There is often an urgent phone call just to be sure everyone is okay. The number of people affected by a wreck reaches well beyond the those immediately involved, and it is that knowledge that even further pushes us to do whatever we can to keep you and/or your loved ones safe on the road.
If we are, by the nature of our profession, exposed to witnessing such tragedies, then we believe there is no more noble thing that we could do than take those examples and use them for the better good. Our "Collision Avoidance" approach is the application of real life perspective that one can only derive from watching the same collisions occur, for the same reasons, over, and over, and over again. By taking what we have learned from that, and paying it forward in the form of teaching our students how to stay out of collision, we have at least turned the misfortune of some into something productive for others.
Not Just Another Driving School
Of course, there are other good Driving Schools here in the Metro that do a fine job of teaching people how to drive, and we applaud them all for their success. At Double Team we offer all the same things they do, and then some. Only at Double Team do you have access to our unique experience that can, without a doubt, teach you what actually may be the most important part of ensuring your safety on the road. We know the exact anatomy of every kind of crash... who causes them, what causes them, where they happen, when they happen, and most importantly, why they happen. That's why our Collision Avoidance approach has been so well accepted. It's what sets us apart, and it's what sets our students apart as well. We hope to add you, a friend or loved one, to our growing list of drivers who know how to employ our Collision Avoidance strategies to stay as safe as possible behind the wheel.
